Review games without student devices
Many classrooms have restricted phones, limited devices, or unreliable Wi-Fi. Review games that need no student devices avoid all three problems. Here are your options, from fully no-tech to one-screen.

Two ways to run review games without student devices
“No devices” can mean two different things, and it helps to know which one your classroom needs.
- No technology at all. Nothing powered on, nothing projected. Just you, your questions, and the room.
- Only the teacher’s device. You run a digital game from one screen, and students play without touching anything.
Review games without technology
These work with any worksheet or set of questions:
- Four Corners: label corners A to D and have students walk to their answer.
- Mini-whiteboard show-me: everyone writes an answer and holds it up on three.
- Whiteboard relay: teams send one student at a time to the board.
- Around the World: students move desk to desk as they answer correctly.
Directions for each are in 8 no-prep review games for middle and high school.
One-screen review games: only the teacher’s device
A one-screen game keeps some of the energy of a digital game without handing devices to students. You run it, show it on a projector or classroom display, and students play in teams.
Review ANYTHING
Review ANYTHING is a spinner-based board game that you run from your own device. Read questions from any worksheet, and the board handles turns, movement, and scores. There are no accounts, no logins, and nothing for students to open or download.
It does use a device, yours. If your rule is no technology at all, use the first list instead. It’s my app, so I’m not neutral. See how it works.
Why teachers drop student devices for review
- Less setup. No join codes, logins, or links to share.
- Heads up. Students look at the board and at each other instead of at their own screens.
- Works when the Wi-Fi doesn’t. Nothing depends on the school network.
- No student accounts. There are no student logins to manage or protect.
